SPC wins £85k for BBO Shropshire Partnership Coordinator Role

SPC wins £85,000 for the Partnership Coordinator role for the Building Better Opportunities Project – BBO Shropshire.

The Partnership Coordinator role is supporting Landau as a core partner with the management and delivery of the BBO Shropshire project, working with 21 VCSE and public sector delivery partners across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

The project is supporting local organisations to help move people who are furthest away from the job market towards and into work and aims to work with 1,366 participants who are experiencing complex and multiple barriers in accessing employment.

We’re delighted to be working with Landau and such a diverse range of organisations, helping some of the most disadvantaged people in Shropshire. It’s an exciting project which is making a significant improvement to people’s lives.” Lindsay Barton, Business Development Manager

The Partnership Coordinator role is part of the successful £3.3m bid by Landau to secure funding for Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin and runs until December 2019.

The Building Better Opportunities programme is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF). The programme is investing in local projects across England, tackling the root causes of unemployment, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth.

An important part of the role is to support Landau and the partner organisations by:

  • Carrying out annual independent business and financial appraisals.
  • Supporting the delivery and monitoring of the two ESF cross-cutting themes that must be fully integrated into the development and delivery of every project. These are gender equality and equal opportunities and sustainable development.
  • Organising regular networking and information sharing events for partners and stakeholders.
  • Meeting with participants to capture their experiences.
