Sonia Roberts – Voluntary Community Sector Assembly – SPC Chair
After spending 20 years in the fashion industry Sonia began working as a volunteer with Young Enterprise mentoring young people in Shropshire to develop entrepreneurial and business skills, she later took employment with Young Enterprise and helped develop and grow the organisation. Since 2003 Sonia has been Charity Manager at Landau an organisation that supports individuals with a wide range of learning and support needs into meaningful employment.
Elaine Griffiths – SPC Board Member
Elaine has over 18 years’ experience of working in the VCS (Community Council and Home-Start). Elaine has an extensive background of volunteering in her own community and has helped many local clubs and groups with governance issues, fund raising, and project management. Elaine has been a member of the Leader Programme for 10 years & chair of finance for 6 years. She has also been a School Governor for the last 25 years and Parish Town Councillor for 18 years in total.
Gill Pitt – SPC Board Member
Gill has worked for Manchester City Council, Shropshire Council and private care work specialising in the elderly and terminal illness. Gill has lived in Shropshire for 17 years and has over 10 years working experience within the voluntary sector. Gill is heavily involved in her local community through being in a school PTA (as Finance Officer) and youth groups (Volunteer Youth Worker).
Lindsey Barton- Development Manager
Lindsay brings a wealth of experience to the team and has 18 years experience in developing and leading major sales campaigns and large-scale bids for public,private and third Sector partnerships, working with a range of large and small organisations. She has created new service delivery models and new market propositions for local and central government services. More recently Lindsay has set up her own business delivering strategic advice, business improvement and creative community solutions to corporate, public sector, social enterprise clients and the community and voluntary sector. Alongside this Lindsay volunteers for Young Enterprise and the Shropshire Wildlife Trust and is Vice Chair for the Shropshire Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses. email@example.com
Jean Hynes – Finance & Administration Officer
Jean’s experience is predominately public sector as for 26 years she was employed by West Mercia Police as Finance Officer for the Shropshire Division.Jean has a HNC BTEC in Business & Finance as well as a DIploma in Finance. Jean has completed a 12 month maternity cover within the finance department at Shropshire Rural Community Council (RCC) which has given her a strong insight into the voluntary sector. Jean follows her work ethos into her volunteering and is the Treasurer for a social club within her local community. firstname.lastname@example.org
